I must admit, dear friends, that my favourite hobby these days is playing computer games – well, others knit or do crosswords, or throw themselves from airplanes (skydiving) or bridges (bungee jumping), while I grab my laptop, tablet or smartphone and dive into a completely different world inhabited by tiny little humans or animals or other cute creatures, and share their adventures or build places with and for them. It’s just so relaxing and calming, just as good as meditation and better than any pill or drug!
So, I’ll start presenting my favourite games to you here, dear friends, and if you like you can try them out for yourselves; you’ll love them, I’m sure! First, my very favourite game at the moment, which I play literally every day whenever I’ve got time, and for which I even left the world of Android games and went back to the old-fashioned laptop, because that’s the only place you can play it: My Sunny Resort by Upjers Games.
It’s a representative of the game genre I love most, idle sim games; the simple premise is that you start building a holiday resort, you get guests in, you build bungalows, shops and outdoors venues for them, you employ workers who produce things for them to buy.
And the game just goes on even while you’re not there, so next time you log in you can collect your products, sell them to your guests, take your guests to the pool and the wellness centre, collect their money when their budget is finished, and put up the new guest groups that are already waiting at the reception! This is all enormously rewarding for anyone who’s ever dreamed of working in the hospitality business…
So, in no time you’ll have a growing and flourishing seaside resort:

And pretty soon, you’ll be able to open a mountain resort, too, which will also grow and flourish!

And then, after a while, you can get a safari resort as well; and you’ll be very busy switching between them and managing all your guests and employees!
You can choose where you want your resorts, too: you can build your seaside resort in the Philippines, the Maldives, Hawaii or Crete, your mountain resort in Norway, USA or Peru, your safari resort in Tanzania, South Africa or Australia – the choice is yours…
Of course, with the money you earn from your customers, you can not only buy new bungalows and shops, but also lovely furniture for your rooms – a dream for everyone who loves interior decorations as much as I do!
Besides money, you also earn xp points, which will regularly take you to a new level in the game, which unlocks new features for you: new bungalows, shops, furniture and outdoors decorations!
And there are lots of extra activities as well to keep you and your employees and guests busy: you can organize boat trips at your seaside resort, starting out from a simple floatable banana boat to skydiving (let your virtual little people do it instead of risking your own neck!) to snorkelling to deep sea diving; you can collect money, xp points and happiness points with those in order to unlock more excursions!
The same goes for your mountain resort; but even at level 54, I’ve still got a lot left to do there, which shows that this game certainly is a long-term project – we’re talking about months, if not years…
Then there are landmarks as well, which you can acquire with money, happiness points or the trading cards you get from your daily booster suitcase: beautiful decorations which will yield various goodies to you every few days!
You can also build a lobby in your seaside resort which you can enlarge and furnish over time, and which will give you more xp points every few hours.
As your resorts grow, you’ll get a lot of staff and resort helpers for each one; and they’ll all keep working tirelessly even while you’re logged out!
As the popularity of your resorts grows, VIPs will also come to visit by helicopter every 8 hours; and they’ll spend much more on everything than ordinary guests, but of course they’ll also want particularly luxurious rooms…
Oh, and if you like, you can view your resorts with the roofs ‘on’ as well, of course! It’s just that I love my interior design so much that most of the time I play with all the beautiful furniture visible…
Now one more thing: I’m not gonna lie, dear friends, it does help if you can afford to buy a shell bundle once in a while with real money in order to help your progress in the game; but then, the smallest bundle is £2.70 – there are more expensive hobbies! Imagine how much a skydiving session would cost…
